Cutler is a product of Mira Contents, a trading name of Erik Gustavo Lindgren, NIF 312974051, Rua das Amendoeiras 51 R/C A, 2750-293 Cascais, Portugal. Contact: support@miracontents.com.
This policy explains what personal data is collected through the Cutler website and the Cutler application, and what is not. It is written under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is the person identified above. Contact for any privacy request: support@miracontents.com.
2. The website
Early-access and contact emails. If you give us your email address to request early access or get in touch, we use it to reply, to send your trial key, and to tell you about Cutler. Monthly product updates go only to people who ticked the box for them, and to customers. Addresses are stored in a database we run on Cloudflare, and email is sent through Resend (Resend, Inc.) from its EU region, which records whether a message was delivered. Every email except a licence key carries a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing stops all of them. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Server logs and analytics. The site is hosted by Netlify and uses Netlify's server-log-based analytics. It sets no cookies and runs no script on your device, so there is no cookie banner. Logs can include your IP address and the pages requested. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and securing the site.
Downloads. Application downloads are served through Cloudflare, which may process your IP address to deliver the file. Same legal basis.
3. What stays on your Mac
Your footage, projects and files stay on your Mac. We do not receive or store them.
Transcription is always local. Audio never leaves your Mac for transcription. There is no cloud transcription path.
License validation is local. It is checked on your device against a public key bundled with the app. The app does not contact us to validate a license.
Credentials. An API key or sign-in you give Cutler is kept on your Mac and used only to talk to the provider it belongs to. We never receive it.
4. How AI is used, and what it receives
Cutler has no AI of its own. The AI comes from a provider you choose. There are three ways to use it, and in every one of them your data goes to that provider, not to us.
Inside an AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT/Codex)Cutler runs on your Mac as a set of tools the assistant can call. Whatever those tools return to the assistant, such as transcript text, sampled video frames, file names and project structure, is processed by that assistant under your own account and that provider's terms.

Your own API key (advanced)Requests go directly from your Mac to the provider you configured (for example Anthropic, or OpenRouter, which routes to model providers such as Google), using your key.
We are not a party to these transfers. The relevant contract is between you and your provider, and what the provider does with the data depends on your plan and settings with them, so check those. We do not receive, store or have access to this data at any point.
For paid Anthropic API use, Anthropic's data processing terms, including EU Standard Contractual Clauses, are incorporated automatically. OpenRouter offers a data processing agreement only to enterprise-tier customers, so a self-serve OpenRouter account has none. If you need that assurance, choose a provider accordingly.
If your footage contains other people, you are responsible for having the rights and consents needed to send it to your chosen provider.
5. Update check
The app can fetch a small public file from our server to see whether a newer version exists. That request reveals your IP address to our host, as any web request does. We do not link it to you.
6. Diagnostics, only when you act
If you click Report, the app prepares an email containing a text summary (project name, platform, last captured error, timestamp) addressed to beta@erikcuts.com. Nothing is sent unless you send it. Legal basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in fixing the fault you report.
7. Purchases
Payments are handled by Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record. Paddle is a separate controller of your payment and transaction data (name, email, country, amount). We do not receive your card details. We receive what is needed to issue your License Key and to handle refunds and tax records.
8. License records
When we issue a License Key we record the email or name it was issued to, the key type, and the issue and expiry dates. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you and our legal obligations (accounting).
9. How long we keep data
Early-access and contact emails: 24 months of inactivity, then deleted or re-permissioned.
License records: life of the license plus 3 years.
Diagnostic emails: until the issue is resolved, then deleted, unless needed for a dispute.
Accounting records: as long as Portuguese law requires.
10. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to support@miracontents.com. You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the CNPD (cnpd.pt), or to the authority in your own country.
11. Children
Cutler is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 16.
12. Changes
If we change what we collect, we will update this page and its date. If we ever add client-side analytics or advertising scripts, this policy and the cookie position will be revised first.
